A former bomb disposal expert has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of his pregnant wife and eight year old son. Nicholas Fabian, from Vigo in Kent, is also charged with the unlawful possession of ammunition. The court heard that in January last year Mr Fabian, an army reservist, was called up to serve in Afghanistan. The prosecution claim that during his training for his deployment his stole a hand grenade and used it to booby trap his wife's car.
